The Collings D2H is one of the finest dreadnought guitars available on the market today. It is made with flawless attention to detail, to a design which takes inspiration heavily from the best pre war Martin dreadnoughts. The Collings D2H has the classic wood combination of Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce. This offers a deep rich bass, with plenty of midrange warmth and sweet high end sparkle. Collings' D2H features forward shifted, scalloped X bracing, which on this example is made of Adirondack Spruce. Adirondack Spruce is a stiffer speices of spruce, taken from a Douglas Fir tree. This special timber imparts more sparkle and projection to the tone of the guitar, and represents excellent value as an option, compared to a full Adirondack Spruce top. The neck is hand carved from one piece of solid Honduran Mahogany, with the fingerboard, bridge and headplate of black ebony. Finished in Collings' Nitrocellulose laquer, with slick polyester neck finish, it's a really amazing guitar.
